Beamforming is one of the key techniques to electronically conform directive beams in modern radio frequency and microwave systems. An individual phase and amplitude control of each channel is critical to properly drive phase array antennas and obtain final system performance, both at Transmission and Reception channels.
This technique is already well known and there are chips developed for mass market applications like 5G, where the channel bandwidth is relatively low.
